Hardwood comes from deciduous, broad-leaf trees that lose their leaves annually, such as oak, maple, and cherry. It is generally denser, more durable, and ideal for furniture, flooring, and cabinetry. Softwood, on the other hand, comes from coniferous trees like pine and fir. It tends to be lighter, easier to work with, and is commonly used in framing and construction.
